Meet Kariny, our Administrative Specialist!
One of my favorite seafood dishes is garlic butter shrimp. To prepare it, I start by cleaning and deveining fresh shrimp. Then, I heat some butter in a pan and add minced garlic, sautéing it until fragrant. I toss in the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice, and cook them until they turn pink. Finally, I garnish with fresh parsley and serve it over a bed of rice.
If I were a sea creature, I would choose to be an octopus. They are incredibly intelligent, adaptable, and can change their color and texture to blend into their surroundings. This ability to adapt would allow for exploring and experiencing the ocean in unique ways.
While oysters are known for producing pearls, not all produce them, and the conditions for pearl formation are quite specific. Pearls form when an irritant, such as a grain of sand, enters the oyster, and it secretes layers of nacre around it.
Personal connections I had lead me to pursue the shellfish industry.
Building relationships with consumers who appreciate the quality and sustainability of our product adds to that gratification.

Pangea Shellfish may stand out in the industry due to several key factors. One possibility is their commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing, ensuring that their shellfish are harvested in ways that protect the environment.
When buying fresh shellfish, a crucial factor to consider is the freshness and liveliness of the product. For example, with shellfish like clams and mussels, they should be tightly closed or close when tapped, indicating that they are alive. Additionally, checking for any off-putting odors is essential; fresh shellfish should have a clean, briny smell reminiscent of the ocean.
Crab! Overall, the combination of taste, texture, nutrition, and the social aspect of enjoying crab contributes to its popularity as a great shellfish.
