the Grower

Mere Point Oyster Company is a family owned and operated oyster farm in Brunswick Maine.  Dan Devereaux approached Doug Niven in 2014 about growing oysters off of his dock.  The two wanted their sons to grow up loving the coast of Maine as much as they do and have opportunities to stay here and make a living in Brunswick, where they were raised. Mere Point Oyster Company is truly a family business, employing both Doug and Dan’s two sons, as well as up to 20 local employees. Mere Point has around 8 million oysters in the bay and bringing oysters to market year-round.
